We’re in the business of creating ridiculously personal experiences for every person that walks through our doors. We celebrate individuality. We fiercely embrace diversity. We welcome varying perspectives, honor different backgrounds, learn from differing beliefs and grow from the multitude of talents, contributions and experiences of all people. We create spaces where every person can feel welcome and free to be their true selves. And, we empower in our guests and employees the freedom and courage to model and lead with an inclusive heart.
We’re proud that Kimpton’s award-winning culture continues to be recognized, most recently for the 13th year on the FORTUNE Best Companies to Work For (2022), Best Workplaces for Women (2022), Best Workplaces for Millennials (2022), People Magazine’s Companies That Care Awards (2022) and another perfect score on the Human Rights Equality Index.
It’s so important to us that we created the ‘Stay Human’ Creator Collective to model our beliefs and change the face of travel content to be more inclusive and inspiring for real travelers. Real stories. Diverse perspectives. Truly unique experiences. Have a look here.
Since our founding in San Francisco in 1981, we’ve embraced our LGBTQIA+ community, advocated for equal rights and have partnered with meaningful organizations that are affecting positive change.
Being inclusive and celebrating diversity isn’t just about creating welcoming spaces for all, though that’s a pretty big deal for us. It’s also about reflecting, listening and learning, advocating for what we believe and modeling our beliefs in the actions we take as a company.
Our Black Lives Matter: Act to Action committee was created to drive meaningful change across our operations, marketing, financial, and people and culture departments. We’ve joined forces with advocacy groups, like Tourism Diversity Matters, established relationships with leading HBCUs (Historically black colleges and universities) to extend our recruiting efforts in the black community, audited all of our company vendors and partners to elevate the Black guest experience and introduced new Black-owned businesses at the brand and property level. We’ve fostered new partnerships at the local level with museums and cultural institutions to offer accessibility to prominent Black History centers for our guests.
