Long Island City is a commercial and residential neighborhood on the west side of Queens, a New York City borough. It is well-known for a thriving arts community, beautiful waterfront parks and rapid growth and gentrification over the past few decades. It is the largest neighborhood in Queens and has the highest concentration of art studio space, galleries and institutions among all NYC neighborhoods. The city sits on the eastern terminus of the 59th Street Bridge, also called the Queensboro Bridge.
When visiting Long Island City, experience the area's culture and vibe by taking a stroll through some of the art galleries within its limits. You'll see exhibits from local artists as well as those from around the world. MoMA PS1 hosts a number of contemporary art events and shows throughout the year. Other top attractions include the Montauk Point Light, a historic lighthouse offering beautiful views of the surrounding area, as well as Astoria, which has a large beer garden and several restaurants.
Enjoy a relaxing stay at one of the IHG hotel properties in Long Island City. Each has something unique to offer guests, such as access to a swimming pool or fitness center or free daily breakfast. Some properties are near subway stops for easy access to other destinations in the city.
