My worst IHG experience

The room ventilation system was inoperable for my entire stay and the rooms were hot, stale and the carpet smell was horrible. The tub didn’t drain so when I showered, I was up to my knees in water with the drain wide open. I traveled with 10+ business colleagues, and everyone had the same experience. Literally impossible to sleep in the room. No heat, no a/c, no air circulation. Forced to stay here because the IHC at the MSP AIRPORT was sold out. Never EVER again.

Dirty rooms, not worth the money. Location is nice.

Our room was extremely dirty at check in- dust on all surfaces, bed, drapes. Coffee stains on night stand. Toothpaste stains in sink. Reached out to staff and they did send someone up to the room to give it a quick clean, but still super inconvenient. I stay in IHG hotels frequently and this was by far the worst experience due to cleanliness. View and location is nice but not worth it. You can park yourself in the garage across the street or pay valet. Price will be about the same.

Another awesome stay but…

I love this property and that’s why I came back. The moment we pullled in to the property, a valet attendant immediately greeted us.

The check-in process was seamless as always. Ayka greeted me with a big smile and she remembered me and welcomed me back warmly. She explained the property’s amenities and my benefits as an Ambassador Diamond Elite member. Incredible service from her! She also introduced us to the Club Lounge personnel so we had an amazing experience at the lounge this time around because the great service we received from Carol.

The room was of decent size and I appreciated the upgrade to a corner room, with an epic views of the river and downtown.

Everything was perfect but the WiFi kept dropping so it made for a very unpleasant experience when I had to use it.

Highly recommended as always and I will return for sure.

Great customer service, air needs help!

The customer service was the best I’ve ever had! Chris and Julia were great! I was excited to find a hotel with such service. At night we realized why our window was open when we arrived… the air conditioning does not work. It was hot and muggy. I loved that our room was high with a view, quiet, valet parking (which was a lot more than this site says. This says $31 it was $45 per night), but do to the air conditioner I would think twice before staying here again.

Gnats and room service

Sever gnat issue. So much so that during lunch for my convention one gnat was served with my salad and another landed on my plate and died in the dressing. After that I wasn’t sure how many more might be in my salad. My main meal had gnats landing on it as soon as it was served. Did not eat either. Next day breakfast and lunch items were covered with cellophane a bit more but still issues. Yuk! Not to mention the annoyance of having flying bugs in your face the whole time you’re trying to speak to a group.
The cleaning of our room was great the first day. The second day our room did not get cleaned properly. They didn’t clean the mirror, bathtub or toilet. I know because toothpaste splash still on mirror, hair in sink and toilet paper roll was empty. They did not replace any of the coffee items and did not replace the waters. Very very disappointed with this stay. I have stayed at many intercontinentals around the world for business and had finally chosen to become a rewards member because of service and cleanliness but this stay by far has been the worst.

A disaster

Loved my previous stays in 2017/2019. 2024, however, is a different story.

I was upgraded to a suite because of my status, which I appreciated. It was, sadly, where hospitality ended. I was asked multiple times whether the dog I was bringing was a service animal. Very presumptuous and rude, if I can say. Plus the Club InterContinental lounge was never attended in the two days I was staying. To make the matter worse, the smoke detector started beeping because of the lack of battery, and it took 50 minutes for the battery to arrive. (Service person was wonderful and accommodating.) Additionally, room was not serviced when the sign “please service my room” was hung outside the door.

I checked out two days earlier than scheduled. I wish I would give the property another chance. Perhaps after a major renovation and proper staff training.

Came here for the Frozen Four, and it did not disappoint! Right from check-in, we experienced the nicest staff. Had a great time, and thanks to all of the staff for making this week a memorable one. Location compared to Xcel Energy is a little bit of a walk, but a beautiful one along the Mississippi River.

Staff was wonderful! Bed was super comfy. Room was fairly small though. 7th floor view of the river was amazing. We did find broken glass in one of the cabinets. And there must be some miscommunication with the hotel/ihg.
I was billed $45 for valet, but on the app it says $35, and the guy who took my keys said it was $25. So I’m not sure what happened there. The bellman was very kind and front desk staff was helpful!

Horrible conditions

Our room was extremely cold. We were told we were on the old side of the hotel and the heat would be pushed through at 10pm, are you serious! They brought a space heater, which are unsafe, on the last day of our stay. We had to sleep in our clothes to stay warm. We’re sick now, because of the extremely cold conditions. And we had to deal with loud construction going on outside of our room. Management did nothing to compensate us. Will never stay here again!!! I total waste of money!!! If you don’t have heat, simply close that side of hotel or don’t use those rooms. Unexceptionable
