Hôtel bien placé, personnel qualifié et très accueillant, chambre spacieuse et agréable. Excellent restaurant avec une cuisine appréciable et un rooftop offrant une vue imprenable. Un endroit parfait pour passer une belle soirée !

Notre petit week-end Bordelais fut très agréable.
La situation de l’hôtel est idéale, le quartier vivant et sympathique.

All staff are very welcome and always smile.
The room is very clean with pet allowed hotel. I cannot find any pets hair.
I cannot find any dust or anything even underneath the bed. Because I accidentally drop my coins then I can see under the bed. Wow. Just perfect stay. Quick solve the problem with Chromecast issues by IT manager. Mistake wine glass take by room service. All sorted very quickly. Thanks again for everything. It was a memorable stay. 😊

Séjour effectué du 8-9 juillet. Cette fois-ci plutôt déçu de l’expérience dans cet hôtel, alors qu’il y a 1 an parfait. Joint noir et décollé dans la douche, panne de TV pendant plus d’une journée. Et pour couronner le tout, nous prenons un verre au Rooftop de l’hôtel et constatons que les employés parlent fort et s’invectivent devant nous …incroyable !!!!!. Excuses effectuées par une responsable mais aucun geste commercial. Nous tenterons de nouveau l’expérience l’année prochaine car l’erreur est humaine, Mais il n’y aura plus le droit à l’erreur car nous partirons à l’hôtel « le Palais Gallien » à bordeaux.

In more than 25 years being IHG customer, staying all over the world, it has been one of the best experiences.
Being great is not only the facilities, location or cleanness , but people.
All the small details.

Special thanks to Agatha. The “ pre journey” , even before my check in . She led me to my suite, providing a hotel tour. That had never happen before, a personal guide during check in. Wow !

Grand Old Hotel Looking for Some Urgent Makeover

We stayed at Intercontinental Grand at Bordeaux for three nights . We had the wine bar suite and the family suite for 3 of us .
The hotel is located as best as it can be in Bordeaux. Bang in the city center it’s a beautiful location as everything is walkable and the are is a pedestrian zone.
The building is gorgeous from outside and the entrance lobby although small still retains a lot of the grandeur.
The conceirge staff is excellent and very knowledgable.
We also dined at their 2 Michelin star restaurant know for its lobster press and it was a delight.
Now for some of the negatives - the hotel and its infrastructure is old - I mean really old and we felt it needs urgent refurbishments . The room structures are a bit random and very less light enters the room. The interiors are in dark shades and lighting is low so it feels like you are In the dark .
There are lots of steps to go up and down to your room even after taking the elevator to your floor. My father stayed at their wine bar suite and he found it difficult to negotiate the steps.
In general it feels that the hotel hasnt been refurbished for many years and things like carpets to wall papers and lighting needs to be upgraded to continue the status of the Grand that the hotel otherwise should rightly deserve.

I had an excellent stay in September 2023 (apologies for the late review) and was treated wonderfully as a VIP.
I reserved a winebar suite and we were upgraded to a Prestige Suite due to my Diamond Elite/Ambassador status.
The room and spa facilities were simply magnificent.
The staff were wonderful and I cannot wait to return this summer.
I will be in the Intercontinental Paris this weekend and will see how this stacks up with Bordeaux.
