Located west of Detroit, Ann Arbor is the sixth most populous city in Michigan. Many people visit Ann Arbor while attending events associated with the University of Michigan, which has a huge campus and is known for its research programs. As you might imagine, many of the hotels in the area are located near the University of Michigan. Staying close to the institution is a good idea, especially if you plan to spend a large percentage of time there. You can get to Ann Arbor via major routes Route 23 and Interstate 94. Consider taking the train or bus, or flying into the Detroit Metropolitan International Airport, which is 20 miles from Ann Arbor.
