Heide Museum of Modern Art

The Heide Museum of Modern Art is located in Bulleen which is about a 25 minute drive from the hotel. This lovely riverside location has an open air sculpture park, three indoor galleries, gardens spread over 16 acres and one of Melbourne's best cafes, Cafe Vue. The museum features a superb collection of Australian Art - a must-see for modern art aficionados.

Melbourne's Golden Mile

Block Arcade

Visit the Block Arcade on Collins Street, a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Built in the 1890s the Block houses many interesting shops, a tea salon and Haigh's chocolates, a Melbourne institution. Enjoy Ausralia's largest tile mosaic floor and the etched glass ceilings. Block Place at the rear of the complex is one of Melbourne's best laneways for cafes.

City Circle Tram

Take a free city tour on the City Circle tram, serviced by one of the original 'W Class' trams which was first put into service in the 1920's. This free hop on, hop off service does a loop of the central business district and provides a narrative to the city as you travel. Trams run from 10am to 6pm Sunday to Wednesday and from 10am to 9pm Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Eureka Skydeck 88

Visit the Eureka Skydeck on the 88th floor of the Eureka tower, the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere. Located at Southbank which is a short stroll from the hotel this observation deck has Melbourne's best views. Try the Edge experience if you dare!

Queen Victoria Markets

This covered market is the first choice for the freshest food for over 130 years, this vast complex offers deli, fresh meat and fish, wine, fruit and vegetables, clothing and souvenirs and is a Melbourne institution. The Market is open farmers market hours so it is better to go early.

Old Melbourne Gaol (Jail)

The Old Melbourne Gaol, a National Trust listed building is where some of Melbourne's most notorious characters were incarcerated including Ned Kelly. Make sure you take part in the Watch House Tour. The night tour is also recommended.
