Petronas Twin Towers

Built in 1998, the 88-floors Petronas Twin Towers with its height of 452meters, is one of the world's tallest building. Inspired by the Islamic architestures, Cesar Pelli designed the Twin Towers. The towers featured the world's highest 2-storey skybridge at the 41st & 42nd levels. It is not attached to the main structure, but instead designed to slide in and out of the towers to prevent it from breaking during high winds. The Skybridge is open to public from 9am-7pm daily except Mondays.

Lake Gardens

Taman Tasik Perdana, or better known as Lake Gardens established in 1888, is the oldest sanctuary in Kuala Lumpur. Formerly known as Sydney Park, the park was established by the State Treasurer to honour Lady Sydney Swettenham - wife of Sir Frank Swettenham who was the Governor of the Straits Settlements. This 91.6 hectare of parks and gardens incorporate the National Monument, Deer Park, Hisbiscus Garden, Orchid Garden, Butterfly Park, Bird Park and The Forest Research Institute.

Aquaria KLCC

Located in KLCC, it is a world-class aquarium that showcases animals and various types of colorful marine life species from Malaysia and around the world. Coliseum Theatre / Coliseum Cafe

Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman (Jalan TAR) is a busy road flanked by art-deco shophouses built during the 1920s to 1930s. Coliseum Theatre is the country's oldest running movie theatre, it seats 900 persons and features numerous pilaters, currently screens mainly Hindi and Malay movies. To enjoy authentic sizzling steaks on hot plates and colonial-era curry tiffins served by waiters in white-starched uniform, head on to Coliseum Hotel & Cafe located next to the Coliseum Theatre.

KL Bird Park

Jadi Batek Centre is one of Kuala Lumpur’s largest batik and handicraft centres. Visitors are free to discover the process of batik-making at its workshop and classes are also available for a fee. Central Market

Shop for a perfect souvenir at Central Market. You can find all types of traditional handcrafts from various cultures mainly Malay, Chinese and Indian. There is everything under one roof from batik, songket, Chinese calligraphy to saris. Central Market has created a corner to display multi-ethnicity and the stalls are zoned based on the features of each culture. The Central Market is a heritage building that was built in 1888 by the British who were ruling Malaya at that time.

Petaling Street / Chinatown

Be dazzled by the local cultures as the areas have some excellent food stalls serving Chinese cuisine and local favourites, and there are many intricately built temples. Popular among locals and tourists, Petaling Street Bazaar is a bargain hunters' paradise as you may find rows of stalls offering cheap watches, handbags, wallets to costume jewellery. The bazaar starts from 10.00am to late night.

Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve & KL Tower

Gazetted in 1906, this 10.5 ha forest-clad hill is one of the oldest forest reserves in the country and the only remaining tropical rainforest in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Enjoy the beauty of mother nature while following the 10-minute or 20-minute walk trails from the Information Centre at Jalan Raja Chulan to KL Tower. KL Tower stands at 421 metres. It houses an observation deck which takes 58 seconds to reach. Next to the tower is the 100-year old Jelutong tree or Dyera Costulata

Batu Caves

Located 13km north of Kuala Lumpur, Batu Caves is an ancient limestone hill with a series of caves and caves temples. Rising almost 100m above the ground, Batu Caves is a sacred place of worship. The Hindus make an annual pilgrimage in January, climbing 272 rock stairs to reach the main cave to pay homage to their deity Lord Murugan at a festival called Thaipusam.

Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary

The sanctuary at Kuala Gandah is only one and a half hour's journey from Kuala Lumpur and is located in a beautiful tropical rainforest. The Elephant Sanctuary is an ambitious elephant conservation programme implemented and managed by the Malaysian Wildlife Society, where you come into close contact with semi-wild elephants. It is an exciting and unforgettable experience where you can spend the day feeding and riding on the elephants, you can even jump into the river and bath the elephants!

Sri Maha Mariamman Temple

Sri Maha Mariamman Temple was originally built by Thamboosamy Pillai in 1873 as a private shrine. It was opened to the public in the 1920s and its famous for its iintricate carvings of Hindu deities. The South Indian style gopuram (tower) is an impressive 23-meter high 5-tier pyramid-shaped gate tower decorated with depictions of Hindu Gods sculptured by artisans from southern India. Visitors must remove their shoes at the main entrance. Optional shoe storage is available at only RM0.20.

Independence Square (Dataran Merdeka)

Dataran Merdeka is the place where Malaysia's Independence being declared on 31 August 1957. To commemorate the momentus independence, there is a 100-meter flagpole rising from the Merdeka Square, it is one of the tallest in the world. Other attractions nearby are Sultan Abdul Samad Building built in 1894, which was used to house the 'Federated Malay States', National Textile Museum, the Monghul-India style KL Memorial buildng, Royal Selangor Club and the City Theatre.
