Half Day: Hollywood Road and Cat Street

Hollywood Road,, Sheung Wan,

Hollywood Road and Upper Lascar Row (also known as Cat Street), are must-see stops on visitor's itinerary. Crammed with antique shops and an open-air curio market, these quaint locales are ideal places for picking up eclectic souvenirs and gifts. Everything from Ming Dynasty furniture and lotus lamps to Mao badges and ancient snuff bottles is on sale here.

Po Lin Monastery

Po Lin Monastery is a top destination for tourists to experience the natural and cultural side of Hong Kong. The Monastery was initially a small temple constructed by three buddhists in 1924. Over the years, more structures have been added, such as the big temple and the world's largest Big Buddha which is the world's largest Buddha statue, by using bronze. It is a great place to spend a half day and enjoy the famous vegetarian meal.

One Hour: Museum of History

This museum covering a total of 17,500 sq m showcases Hong Kong's broad and dynamic history. Great efforts have been made in collecting, conserving, processing, studying and displaying cultural objects which are related to the archaeology, history, ethnography and natural history of Hong Kong and South China. The permanent exhibition showcases 400 million years of Hong Kong's history. Thematic exhibitions are also held from time to time.

One Hour: Victoria Harbour

Victoria Harbour is one of Hong Kong's greatest assets, a jewel that people marvel at, no matter how many times they visit the city. People come from all over the world to see and admire it. Take the famous Star Ferry to Hong Kong Island and soak up the ambience of Victoria Harbour while enjoying views of both Hong Kong Island and Kowloon.

Two Hours: Tao Temple

Covering 18,000 sq m and located in a tranquil natural setting remote from the nearby housing estates and the bustle of their streets, the temple is, apart from being an important religious centre, a scenic attraction full of beautifully ornamented traditional buildings. It commemorates the famous monk of yore Wong Tai Sin (also known as Huang Chu-ping), who was born around AD 328 and became a deity at Heng Shan (Red Pine Hill) in his later life.

Two Hours: Victoria Peak

The Peak is one of the most popular attractions in Hong Kong, you'll be amazed by the spectacular view of the surrounding city skyline, the world-famous Victoria Harbour and Kowloon, towering skyscrapers and peaceful green hillsides. There's nothing in the world like the Peak Tram. Pulled by steel cables, the tram climbs 373 m. It's so steep that the buildings you pass look like they're leaning! Whether you're going up or coming down, definitely you'll love this trip.

The circular walk around The Peak takes one hour starting from Lugard Road and going back to the tram station.

Temple Street

Temple Street is awash with rows of brightly lit stalls hawking an astonishing variety of clothing, pens, watches, CDs, electronic gadgets, hardware and luggage. The busy food stalls offer a range of delicacies including fresh seafood and hotpot dishes to tempt your appetite. Fortune-tellers cluster at the Yau Ma Tei end of the street, and so do Chinese opera enthusiasts seeking kindred spirits for impromptu performances. Simply absorbing Temple Street is a memorable experience.

A Symphony of Lights

This spectacular multimedia display, already named the World's Largest Permanent Light and Sound Show by Guinness World Records. The show creates an all-round vision of coloured lights, laser beams and searchlights. For the best view of A Symphony of Lights, take a harbour cruise or head to the waterfront promenades on either side of Victoria Harbour. The show, organised by the Tourism Commission, is a must-see event on any visit to Hong Kong.

Tung Choi Street & Goldfish Market

This street has many shops selling exotic fish, coral, colourful jellyfish and pets of all kinds.

Flower Market

Hong Kong's Flower Market is a truly magical experience. Admire the colourful displays, the sweet scents and the exotic blossoms of many fortune-bringing houseplants. Flower Market Road, MongKok, Kowloon (MTR Prince Edward Station Exit B2, walk along Prince Edward Road West towards the direction of railway station for about 15 minutes) 7am - 7pm

Fire work show

Tip: Make sure you book a hotel room or restaurant with a good harbour view. For special days such as HK SAR Establishment Day, China National Day and the second day of Chinese New Year, there is usually a multi-million dollar fireworks display on the Victoria Harbour.

HK Disneyland

Tip: Purchase tickets on-line or at our tour desk. Reserve Disneyland bus seats at the concierge desk. The park has been open a year and is the second Disneyland in Asia.

Horse Racing

Tip: Book a tour that includes a personal entry badge to the luxurious Visitor Box. Horseracing is the only legal form of gambling in HK and race day is an electrifying experience.

Ocean Park

Tip: You can enter the park at the Tai Shue Wan entrance. HK's biggest theme park features a pair of pandas presented as a gift from China as well as an educational marine wildlife programme that kids and adults alike will love.

Victoria Peak

Tip: Go to the Star Ferry Pier and make a booking at the Peak restaurant. The best place for one of the most outstandingly beautiful night views in the world.
