Originally a fort built in the 1870s, the Dubai Museum was officially opened in 1971. The galleries recreate scenes from the creek, traditional Arab houses, mosques, souks, date farms and desert and marine life.
Sheikha Saeed Maktoum's House

The official residence of Sheikh Saeed Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai (1912 - 1958) and grandfather of the present Ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The house, which dates back from 1896, today houses a rare collection of historic photographs, coins, stamps and documents that record Dubai's history.
