Half a Day: Art Galleries
There are sponsored seasonal art walks which visit the galleries along Mayfield and Murray Hill in Little Italy. Even if they are not operating during your visit, you can easily take your own tour. All you need is a map and a comfortable pair of shoes.
Half a Day: Lake and River Cruise

A lake and river cruise might be just the ticket. The Goodtime III and the Nautica Queen both operate cruises at lunchtime and in the evening for dinner and dancing. They don't operate for the first three months of the year.
If you're really in a hurry why not take a helicopter tour? Only $110 for two people, and you get a fantastic aerial view of the city. Ask the Concierge for details.
One Hour: Lolly the Trolley

Take a Lolly the Trolley city tour. They offer both 1 hour and 2 hour tours. It's the best way to get a feel of the city as well as a chance to understand the layout of the town. The cost is only $10, but do phone ahead for reservations.
Emerald Necklace Excursions can take you on a tour of the Cleveland Metroparks. It's basically a nature tour but you also get a considerable amount of historic information as well. Includes lunch.
Two Hours: Starlight Tour
Starlight Tours have audio equipment for self-guided tours, such as the Afro-American heritage tour featuring the underground railroad - an escape route in the times of slavery.
Duck Pond at University Circle

If you need to get some fresh air or unwind after a long day, this is the place. It's close to the hotel and is popular with local parents who take their children to feed the ducks.

Rockefeller Park

About a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel, the park is a relaxing place to stroll around. If you are feeling more energetic, there are 3-4 tennis courts here. This park is just minutes from the Botanical Gardens, Natural History Museum, Severance Hall, and the Rockefeller Greenhouse.
University Circle

University Circle occupies the eastern part of the city and is the educational, cultural and medical center. Close by is Little Italy, a very attractive area with many private art galleries and a host of restaurants.

If you like to try new micro-brews the Great Lakes Brewery is where you want to be, with some of Cleveland's best award-winning beers. Outstanding food and service, a must for visitors.
Tip: On Sundays they have a Gospel Brunch, it has to be seen to be believed.
The House of Blues is a favorite for music lovers hosting different bands and solo artists at least 4-5 nights a week. Good food and a great decor.

Progressive Field, home to the Cleveland Indians baseball team. One of the great sights in the city is the sun setting behind the five-story high scoreboard, when the Indians are out in front.

Cleveland is, after all, the rock and roll capital of the world. Trace the history - gospel, bluegrass and R&B, and hear the sounds of all the greatest names in the business. See the recreated Sun Studios from Memphis along with literally thousands of guitars, clothing and memorabilia.

The Improv as locals call it has hosted some of the world's best comedians such as Jerry Seinfeld, Drew Carrey, Chris Tucker, and John Pinnette. It is not only a comedy club but a good place to eat in the evenings.

With over 400 interactive exhibits, video shows and countless items the Science Center is a fascinating place to visit.
This fairly large area is home to some of Cleveland's premier restaurants, lounges, and night clubs. It is also a lovely lively area to wander around in after dinner.
The upbeat mood in the North Coast Cafe is a great way to start the morning or refuel in the middle of a busy day. If you can't decide what to order from the casual dining menu, you can sample the international buffet and carving station whihc changes daily. Fresh pasta is made every day and served with your choice of sauces, and the homemade desserts are irresistible.
