InterContinental® Madrid, in partnership with the Sorolla Foundation, brings us an Insider Experience that sheds light on Spanish artist Joaquín Sorolla’s works, whilst showcasing the artistic heritage of this beautiful hotel and city.

In a short film, we follow the personal journey of renowned British jewellery designer, Stephen Webster MBE as he meets Ms. Blanca Pons-Sorolla, the great-granddaughter of Joaquín Sorolla to learn about one of Spain’s greatest artists, and draws inspiration for his own jewellery designs.

The programme has been beautifully woven through hotel; Head Chef Miguel de la Fuente treats Stephen to an exquisite fish dish in honour of Sorolla’s fascination with the sea - a shared source of inspiration for these three artists.

The Royal Suite with its breath-taking terrace, provides a reflective and creative space for Stephen to begin his jewellery sketch work – a ‘gift’ that will be hung in the hotel later this year for guests to enjoy.

InterContinental^® Dublin has partnered with Dublin City Gallery, The Hugh Lane’s Francis Bacon Studio and the esteemed art curator and consultant Adam Waymouth. To launch this series for 2016,  Adam was invited on an intimate Insider Experience: “Inside the Mind of Francis Bacon”. He shares his findings in this stunning video where he is led by Dr. Barbara Dawson, a world-leading expert on Francis Bacon who brought the Studio to Dublin.

Dublin City Gallery, The Hugh Lane houses a remarkable unseen display of Bacon’s personal assets, including  his studio. Drawing on his passion for art,  Adam Waymouth weaves a compelling path through attractive sites surrounding the InterContinental Dublin, before arriving at Dublin City Gallery, The Hugh Lane. We see how deeply Waymouth is moved by discovering some of Bacon’s most iconic pieces.  In a fascinating exchange, he and Dr. Dawson share insight on Bacon’s life and work, before unveiling some of Bacon’s most closely guarded archive material.
