Redondo Beach is one of the three beach cities in the South Bay of Los Angeles, California. It's home to nearly 70,000 residents and was originally part of the Rancho San Pedro Spanish land grant from 1784. It sits on the state's southeast coast, and more than 99 percent of the city's 6.2 square miles is made of land. The Pacific Coast Highway splits Redondo Beach down the middle, with most of the residential areas making up the inland section. It has a similar climate to Los Angeles, with pleasant weather throughout much of the year.
If you plan to spend time relaxing on the sand, the city's top beaches include Dockweiler State Beach, Hermosa Beach and Redondo Beach. Hermosa and Redondo beaches both have piers with spots to dine and shop. Enjoy a relaxing atmosphere at the South Coast Botanic Garden, a serene 87-acre attraction showcasing impressive plant life and horticulture.
It's easy to find an IHG hotel in Redondo Beach with the amenities you want to feel right at home. Some properties offer suites for larger groups or those who want extra space to relax and prepare meals. You can also choose a beachfront IHG hotel property, which will provide an impressive ocean view.
The closest airport for travel to Redondo Beach is Los Angeles International Airport, although a few smaller regional airports offer domestic services, as well. Within the city, public transportation is available via taxi service or on the bus lines operated by Beach Cities Transit.
