How do I change or cancel my reservation?
It’s easy to change or cancel your reservation for any InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) hotel. You can visit our Manage Your Reservations page or call us at your nearest worldwide reservations office.
Do I incur Booking Fees when booking online?
No. Many third-party travel web sites charge a booking fee for every reservation made, some as high as $10 per booking. We don't charge any booking fees for making reservations directly with us.
Why do we require a credit card for Internet reservations?
By securing your online reservation with a credit card, you are eligible for our Reservations Guarantee. If your reservation cannot be honoured, the host hotel will provide a room at, and transportation to, another convenient and comparable hotel, and pay for telephone calls to notify family of the lodging change. The host hotel will also pay the full cost of the first night's lodging rate, plus tax. Any advance deposit will be refunded.

How do I book a stay with IHG® Rewards points?

How do I create a Password?

I cannot find my IHG® Rewards card. Can I get a new one?
Yes. Just sign into your account, click on “View Member Materials” and print a new card. You can begin using it immediately. Or, you can choose “Order Card” if you wish to get a plastic card which will be sent to your address within 2-4 weeks.
How often will I receive an IHG® Rewards eStatement?
You will receive your account activity in a monthly eStatement. If you do not wish to receive these, please update your email subscription in Communication Preferences.

How do I deposit point vouchers online?

Can I transfer points to my family and friends?
IHG® Rewards points can be transferred to another IHG® Rewards member in 1,000 point increments for $5 USD per 1,000 points. Do IHG® Rewards Points expire?
To reward our guests who choose to stay with us more often, we focus more programme benefits toward members who earn and redeem on a regular basis. All points will expire after 12 months if there's no account activity. But it's easy to maintain your points balance. Just earn or redeem once a year through any of our IHG hotels or partners.
How do I become an IHG® Rewards Gold Elite member?

As a Spire Elite member, can I switch my Choice Benefit selection if I change my mind?

How long will it take my IHG® Rewards points to post to my account after a recent stay?
Please allow seven business days after you check out for points from a recent stay to post to your account. If it has been more than seven days and your points are still missing, you can contact a Customer Care Centre or fill in a Missing Points form.
How do I get credit for a missing stay?
A stay takes seven business days from the date of check-out to post to your IHG® Rewards account. Stays prior to enrolment are not eligible for credit. However, as an IHG® Rewards member you may request credit for stays up to six months after check-out. What is the difference between a stay and a night?
A “night” is considered one night at any of our hotels. A “stay” can consist of any number of consecutive nights at the same hotel, regardless of frequency of check-in/check-out.
When is a night or stay considered qualifying?
A "stay" or "night" is qualified when paying qualifying room rates, which include most business and leisure rates.
What are qualifying room rates?
Qualifying room rates are applied when you book through IHG central reservation offices, IHG web sites, travel agents or directly at the hotel. In North, South and Central America and the Caribbean, points may be awarded on locally negotiated rates if these rates are discounted less than 30%. In Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Greater China (Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau) hotels and resorts, Qualifying Rates include all locally negotiated rates.
Can I earn points and miles at the same time?
Your IHG® Rewards account must reflect either a points or a mileage earning preference. However, you can switch from one to the other at any time by updating the preferences on your account. Occasionally, there are IHG® Rewards promotions that offer points only, so if you are a mileage earner you will earn points on these offers. This information will be clearly displayed in the promotion details.
How do I change my earning preference?
To change your earning preference please sign in to your IHG® Rewards account, go to My Account and Preferences to select your choice of earning IHG® Rewards points OR airline miles.

How do I earn airline miles for a stay?
You can earn miles with our frequent flyer programme partners by changing your earning preferences or by calling the IHG® Rewards Service Centre.
When miles are transferred to a frequent flyer account, both accounts must be in the same name to avoid airline reject. This is for the member’s protection so that no unauthorised transfers may occur. Once transferred to an airline, they may not be returned to the member's IHG® Rewards account.
Can I earn points when I book on third-party sites?
Most rates booked through most third-party web sites, complimentary hotel stays and any other rates not defined as a Qualifying Room Rate are not eligible for points.
For which offers am I registered?
To see your Offers you'll need to sign in to your IHG® Rewards Rewards account. Once signed in to My Account click ’Offers’, then see “You’ve signed up for these offers:” at the bottom of the page.
I don't see a promotion in my Offers. Does that mean that I'm not registered?
While most of the promotions you have signed up for will appear in Offers, there are a few that will not. To ensure you have been registered for a specific promotion, please contact the IHG® Rewards Service Centre near you.
How will I know which of my stays qualified for a promotion?
You can find the list of your stays that counted towards a specific promotion by signing in to your account and clicking ”Account Activity” on the menu on your left-hand side.
How do I make sure my stay gets counted toward the promotion if it isn’t listed in the Activity Detail?
If you are missing points from a promotion, please complete the Missing Points form to request a review. A Customer Care representative will use the details you provide to research the problem and contact you with a resolution.
Can I redeem my points for airline miles?
You may convert your IHG® Rewards points to miles/credit with participating frequent flyer programmes. Conversions must be made in block increments for specified Frequency Alliances. To redeem your points for airline miles or credits, please call your nearest IHG® Rewards Service Centre. The posting time of frequent flyer miles varies by airline and can take up to six weeks to post to your frequent flyer account.
Can I convert my airline miles to IHG® Rewards points?
No, we do not currently offer this option. However, you can convert IHG® Rewards points to miles with many of our airline partners.
When I convert points to airline miles, how long does it take until the miles are credited to my frequent flyer account?

What is changing with Reward Nights?
Starting in early 2020, the amount of points that IHG Rewards members use to redeem for a Reward Night will now flex up and down just like cash rates. These fluctuations will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, demand, brand, location and day of the week. Previously, these point amounts were mostly static throughout the year.
How often can a Hotel's point amount change?
Point amounts by hotel could vary daily just like cash rates. For a multi-night stay, you will now see an average point amount and daily point amounts just like cash bookings.
Once a member books a Reward Night could the point requirement ever change?
Once a booking is made, that member will lock in the required point amount. While the hotel's point requirement could go up or down post booking, this will not affect the member's original booking.
Will the Reward Night cancellation policy change?
No. At this time, the cancellation policy will not change. Points will be redeposited into a member’s account when cancelled.
Does this change Points & Cash?
Points & Cash will function as it does today, allowing members to use less points than are required for a full Reward Night and use cash (to purchase the balance of points) for the remaining amount. As Reward Night point amounts flex up and down, Points & Cash amounts will as well.
With this change, will IHG offer Reward Nights on premium rooms and suites?
Each Reward Night is valid only for a double or king room for one night and tax. Reward Nights at all-inclusive resorts are based on double occupancy. Extra person charges may apply beyond double occupancy. Please call the IHG® Rewards Customer Care Centre for details.
How far in advance will you be able to see the point pricing for hotels?
Just like all bookings, you can search and book up to 50 weeks in advance.
If a guest books a Reward Night and then the point amount decreases, can the guest recoup the difference?
By cancelling the existing booking and rebooking at the new point amount the member will be able to secure the lower rate, thus putting the difference of points back into their account. Note that Reward Nights are subject to availability so a booking cannot be guaranteed if cancelled.
How will the new variable Reward Night point amounts impact IHG® Rewards Card Fourth Reward Night Free benefit?
An IHG® Rewards cardholder will be able to redeem the 4th night free for any stay of 4 or more nights the same way as they do today, so there is no impact. No matter what the 4th Reward Night point amount is, it will be free.
What hotels can IHG® Rewards credit cardholders now book using their Anniversary Night benefit?
Since the Reward Night point prices will be variable, the booking dates will determine which hotels can be redeemed at 40,000 points or less. For a list of hotels that may not be available please refer to the landing page located here.
Will I earn points or miles on Reward Nights?
Points will not be issued when you stay on Reward Nights but you will earn points or miles on all eligible charges billed to your room during your stay such as food and beverage, telephone, and in-room movies (only Qualifying Room Rates are eligible for points at Kimpton® Hotels). Charges at restaurants not operated by the hotel may not be eligible for points.
Can I use a combination of points and cash on a Reward Nights reservation?
Yes. You may choose to redeem Points for a Reward Night by using your existing Points for all required Points for the desired Reward Night, or using your existing Points and purchasing additional Points in various increments to total the required Points.
If I cancel a Reward Night reservation that was made through the Points & Cash programme, can I get a refund?
You will get your points back instantly when you cancel a Reward Nights reservation, however, the cost for the Points purchased is non-refundable. No cash will be refunded.
How late can I cancel a Reward Night reservation?
Most Reward Night reservations will allow you to cancel a day before your check-in date. Please check your confirmation details for specific information.
How soon will I get my points back if I cancel a Reward Night reservation?
You will get your points back instantly when you cancel a Reward Night reservation.
What will happen to my points if I cancel beyond the cancellation date?
You will get your points back instantly however the credit card you used in making the reservation will be charged the corresponding no-show fee.
Do I need to make a reservation to redeem a Reward Night?
Reward Nights require a reservation. Please select Reward Nights as your rate preference when booking online.
How soon can I book a Reward Nights reservation?
While we encourage members to book Reward Night reservation in advance, most can be booked on the day of stay as long as rooms are available at your preferred hotel.
What type of room can I book under Reward Nights?
Reward Night reservations apply to standard rooms only as defined by each participating property.
How many rooms can I book under Reward Nights?
When redeeming points for a Reward Night, you may only book one room at a time. Continue to complete your reservation with one room. Once you complete your Reward Nights reservation you will be given the option to duplicate this reservation.
What is not included in your Reward Night reservation?
Reward Night rooms do not include food and beverages, gratuities or incidentals. These charges are to be paid directly to the hotel prior to check-out. Transportation costs to and from the hotel are not included.
What are no blackout dates?
Hotels set aside Reward Nights for every day of the year regardless of holidays, seasons or special events. Availability is based on a first come, first served basis.
Can I use my points on an existing reservation?
Points cannot be used on existing reservations. Reward Nights must be booked in advance.
I'm staying at your property and I'd like to add a night on using my points. How do I do that?
You need to book the additional night online or by calling the IHG® Rewards Service Centre. Please note, however, it is subject to availability.

What is a Verified Guest?
To best serve our guest community, we only display reviews from verified guests. Our verification process involves requesting a few pieces of information, including last name, hotel confirmation number and check-out date, which we use to confirm instantly that a reviewer has been a guest of the hotel he or she wishes to review.

If you have a copy of the bill given to you when you checked out of the hotel, you can find your IHG-specific confirmation number there. Otherwise, you will need to contact the hotel at which you stayed to obtain your IHG-specific confirmation number.
The link you emailed me to request a review of my stay is not working. How can I leave my review?
If the link in your email is not working, you can still submit a review of your stay.
If you are an IHG® Rewards member, log in to your account and view your Account Activity to find all hotel stays from the previous 180 days. From there, you can select the “Write a Review” link associated with the hotel you wish to review.
If you are not an IHG® Rewards member, you can submit a review of your stay by visiting the hotel details page of any hotel(s) where you have stayed in the past 6 months and selecting the “Write a Review” link. You’ll be asked for some information we can use to instantly verify that you’ve been a guest of the hotel. Once verified, you’ll be taken to a form where you can submit your rating and review.

I can’t find my confirmation number, check-out date, or both
If you are an IHG® Rewards member and you booked your stay via your IHG® Rewards account, simply log in to your account and view your Account Activity to find all hotel stays from the previous 180 days. From there, you can select the “Write a Review” link associated with the hotel you wish to review.
If you are not an IHG® Rewards member, check to see if you still have the confirmation email we sent to you when you booked your hotel stay or if you have a copy of the bill given to you when you checked out of the hotel. These documents should contain all of the information you need to be able to submit a review. Otherwise, you will need to contact the hotel at which you stayed to obtain your relevant hotel stay information.

Why can’t I edit my review?
Unfortunately, our system does not allow for editing of reviews. You may comment on your review and/or post a subsequent review if there is something you’d like to add.
Why hasn’t my review been posted?
Generally, your review should be posted within 24–72 hours. However, since this is a new feature and is being implemented in phases, it may take a little longer in the initial phases. If you chose to receive email notifications, we will email you when your review has been posted.
Will IHG keep my personal information safe and private?

Where do I go to read my review?
Once your review has been posted, you can visit the hotel details page for the hotel you reviewed to read it. To access the hotel details page, simply search for the city of the hotel via our reservations module on the website home page and click on the name of the hotel from the search results.
Why didn’t my review post to Facebook?

Why am I unable to submit a review for one of my recent hotel stays?
We understand your frustration and we apologise for the inconvenience. The Guest Reviews programme is a new programme IHG is implementing gradually across our hotel properties and websites. Therefore, the hotel you would like to review may not be participating yet. We thank you for your interest in helping future hotel guests by submitting a review and hope that you will check back with us when we launch the reviews programme fully.
Why am I only able to see reviews in certain languages?
At this time, Guest Reviews are supported only in English, Spanish, German, and Chinese. We do plan to feature the Guest Reviews functionality in all of the languages IHG supports in the future.
Will I earn IHG® Rewards points for stays at Kimpton® hotels?
From January 1, 2018, you are eligible to earn IHG® Rewards points when you stay at any Kimpton hotel on a qualifying rate.
Will I be able to earn points for all spend at Kimpton hotels?
IHG Rewards points will be awarded for spend on room nights. At this time, spend on food & beverage and other incidentals will not be eligible for points.
Can I redeem IHG Rewards points for Reward Nights at Kimpton hotels?
Beginning January 2018, you are able to use IHG Rewards points to book Reward Nights at any Kimpton hotel. All terms and conditions associated with IHG Reward Nights will apply.
Will I be able to use my valid free night(s) at Kimpton hotels?
Beginning January 2018, you are able to use your valid free night(s) at all Kimpton hotels. All terms and conditions associated with the free night will apply.
Will I receive all my IHG Rewards benefits at a Kimpton hotel?
Yes. You will be recognized by your IHG Rewards membership level and receive your IHG Rewards benefits when staying at any Kimpton hotel.
For Elite members (Gold Elite, Platinum Elite and Spire Elite), your Welcome Amenity will be a specialized Kimpton perk known as “Raid the Bar,” where you will be able to choose a snack or drink from your in-room mini-bar or enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail at a Kimpton bar or restaurant.
