Be sure to visit Geronimo's grave, the final resting place of the Apache warrior. Geronimo lived at Fort Sill as a prisoner of war from 1894 until his death in 1909. His unique grave in the Apache Indian Cemetery is marked by a stone pyramid and eagle.
The Discovery Trail consists of six historic sites. Comanche National Museum & Cultural Center, historic M. Beal House, Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, Museum of the Great Plains, Holy City of the Wichitas and Ft Sill Museum reveal our Western past.
Don't go home without a trip to Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. This nearly 60,000-acre park features habitats that are home to more than 50 mammal, 240 bird, 64 reptile and amphibian, 36 fish and 806 plant species. You may spot bison, elk or deer.
