Description

When someone says Alabama most think of the popular song line, “Sweet home Alabama, where the skies are so blue.” Alabama is a sweet place to live, but it's also a sweet place to visit.

Alabama isn't a stranger to its nature attractions with the Noccalula Falls, Cathedral Caverns and Cheaha Mountain making a home here. Noccalula Falls is a 90-foot flowing waterfall receiving its name after a Cherokee princess whose lover's tale ended tragically at this gorgeous landmark. The entrance into Cathedral Caverns is enormous, but inside is an even more spectacular sight to see with Big Rock Canyon, Goliath and other impressive formations created by Mother Nature. Cheaha Mountain is one of the highest points in Alabama and is best known for its hiking.

Did you know the first rocket to send men to the moon was built in Alabama? Huntsville has its name in history as the city bringing us America's space program, and you can find out about it and see a cool rocket collection at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center.
